Still Chill'n in Clarksville

I decided to write a little tonight, because I'm sitting here basically in the dark with no heat. Let me explain, since I let my coach batteries get to low on water (too damn lazy to check them during the year when I should have), I'm trying to revive them by using the equalize option on my inverter/charger. Basically I'm putting a 16volt charge to the batteries over an 8 hour period, right now they are boiling away (I can hear them gergelling away), kinda sounds like Tony's stomach when he hasn't eat'n for a long time (just kidding Tony, I just wanted to mention you in my blog). The reason why I'm freezing my ass off in the dark, you have to disconnect everything that runs off of 12volt while you equalize the batteries, since you are charging them with 16volts, you can do some serious damage. The other reason I'm doing it at night, is so my food in the fridge won't get to warm while the fridge is off. Well, lets get to what I've been up to since last Thursday.

Right now it is Tuesday night around 11:50pm and I am watching the Jay Leno Show, Martha Stewart is his guest. Last Thursday it was still cold, overcast and rainy, so again I wasn't able to help Bill fix his roof (need a dry warm day), however, Bill, Lynda and I went to Ft Campbell to look around the AAFES Mall and Commisary. I needed to get a haircut also, we did forget it was payday for all the soldiers and man were the stores crammed with all the wife's out shopping. The haircut I got wasn't that great, luckily my hair grows pretty much like a weed, so I should be ok for the WoO Banquet after the World Finals. For dinner, Lynda made spagetti (Bill made the meatballs), it was some good stuff!!!! We had a really nice dinner and some good conversation. After dinner, I went back to my RV to relax and watch some TV, Thursday night my favorite reality show is on, Survivor. I'm still not sure who I'm rooting for yet, but Russell is kinda a jerk, but I like the way he is playing the game so far.

I just heard some funny shit on Jay Leno, he was doing his "10 at 10" segment (where Jay ask 10 questions to someone via satellite) tonight it was with Ludicris. One of the questions Jay asked Ludicris was, "What is the first thing you do in the morning?", Ludicris answered, "Tell her she's gotta get out". I thought that was some funny shit...

Back to last week, Friday morning I woke up to more cold, overcast and rainy skies, just a bunch of crappy weather so far. So, again I can't help Bill fix his roof or even wash my RV and Woody's trailer. I did accomplish something worth while, I took Bill to his Opthamologist (probably misspelled) and dropped him off, Lynda was going to pick him up after she got done doing her stuff. After I dropped Bill off, I drove around Clarksville to see if I could get lost. I did manage to get lost and I even found Austin Peay State college, didn't even know it was in Clarksville. After driving around for about 2 hours, I found my way back to the house. Bill & Lynda got back from the doctors office, and I couldn't wait for dinner. Bill & Lynda kept talking for the past two days about how good their Bisen Roast Stew was and I could smell it the whole time I was in their RV, I just wanted to taste it, but I knew I had to wait for dinner (if Bill & Lynda would have left me alone in their RV, I know I would have broke down and given it a taste test). Dinner time was finally here, man I was not dissappointed, their Bisen Stew was awesome. I have never eat'n a Bisen Roast before, it was delicious. If you are someone who doesn't like beef because it has too much fat in it, you have to try Bisen, I didn't see one ounce of fat on the roast and it tasted great. After dinner, I went back to my place and watched the Nationwide race from Charlotte. What a pleasent surprise, I got to watch Dave Blaney run up front all night and actually challenge for the win. I wish Dave would get a good competative ride for the Sprint Cup series, I don't think he has ever had the best equipment to show his true talent. Way to go Dave!!!!

Saturday, I actually woke up to some sunshine, it was still cool out and there were a bunch of clouds, but it was dry. I needed to check the water in my coach batteries, however it is a major job to do it. If you knew where my batteries are located and how they are hooked up, I can't check the water level without removing all of them from my RV. After I got all of them out, they were all extremely low, so I had to head for the store to get some distilled water. First I stopped at the Dollar General store a couple miles from the house, on my way there I noticed a bunch of TV production trucks, a big RV, and a bunch of contractors and volunteers, after putting 2&2 together, I knew it was the show Extreme Home Makeover. I asked the gal at the Dollar General and she confirmed it, they were starting to film today. After having to go all the way to the Krogers to get distilled water, I finally got the batteries back in and hooked up correctly, hopefully that will help them last longer. The three of us went to dinner to one of their favorite small resturants, Campbell's Cafe, Bill recommended I try the Linguiza, again I have never had it before. So, thats what I ordered, when it came it was a giant fried pork loin, I mean giant and thick, plus it was breaded with their homemade batter, it was another good recommendation from Bill, I was full when we left. After we got back, it was time for the NASCAR race to start, so I plopped my ass down on the couch and watched the race. It looked cold their, and their didn't appear to be that big of a crowd, maybe they should have that race on Sunday instead of Saturday night, it definitely would be warmer. God I hope it isn't that cold when we are there in a couple weeks for the World Finals.

Sunday when I woke up, Bill & Lynda had already took off for Hot Springs, AR and it was a beautiful blue sky day. My plan was to wash everything today when it warmed up. But, it never really warmed up and it was kinda windy, so I looked up the forecast for Monday and it was supposed to be warmer, so I decided to vegitate on the couch and watch football all day. First I watched the F1 race from Brazil, not a bad race considering it is F1, then I switched over to the Vikings - Ravens game, my favorite NFL team has always been the Vikings, when I was 6-8 yrs old, I became a Vikings fan during the Purple People Eaters, Fran Tarkington, Chuck Foreman days, mainly because my Mom & Dad were 49ers/Raiders fans, so I had to root for a different team, the Vikings it was and has been since. I have been dissappointed many times, but after going 6-0 so far this year, maybe there is a Super Bowl in their future. Initially I was against the Farve deal, but not now, go Brett.

Monday, it was another gorgous day, so I finally got off my lazy butt and washed my RV and Woody's trailer. They were a filthy mess and needed a good cleaning. I am using a new soap I got in Chico during the Gold Cup when they advertised on Woody, the soap is XMR Soap, the stuff really works, I didn't have to scrub so hard and since it was the second time using the soap, it dried spot free. I recommend you trying it, go to www.XMRSOAP.com and order it. They will also be on Woody's wing panel during the World Finals, so please support them if you want to try a good new soap. I also washed Bill's 92' Izuzu pickup truck, man it really was white. After finishing all my work, I decided to go out to dinner, I found a little Bar & Grill to try, when I walked in, I was like holy crap, what have I walked into. It was a Jamaican Bar, really dark with blue light and nothing but black dudes in there, so when I walked in wearing a white sprint car shirt (I think it was a new TMAC shirt), I immediately glowed in the dark and everyone in there stopped playing pool and talking and just looked at me like I was crazy... Then they invited me in, I sat down at the bar and ordered the fried pork chops with rice & beans (rice & peas as they called it) and green beans. Another great meal, I knew better than to order the Jerked Chicken, the last time I had Jerked anything at a Jamaican resturant, it was way way to spicey hot for me. I got back to Bill & Lynda's place right at late dusk and I planned on doing my laundry while I watch Monday Night Football. First I need to tell you that their house is in a wooded area and I'm parked down by the woods next to his shop. As I started walking up to the house with my laundry, it was dark and I could hear some noises around me, then as my eyes adjusted I could see some shapes in the grass, then all of a sudden I was damn near attacked by a bunch of deer, there were at least 10 of them and when I spooked them, they ran and one of them must have came within two feet of me, its a good thing he didn't have a big rack, or he might of gored me. I never knew doing laundry might kill me.

Today, I was going to leave and head for Millington, TN and visit some of my Navy friends, but since I couldn't get ahold of them on the phone, I decided to hang out here one more night. Oh yah, Monday when I drove by the Home Makeover House Sunday afternoon, they had already demolished the old house and had a new foundation poured. Monday when I drove by, they had all the framing of the house complete. Today when I drove by, they have the roof on, all the windows in, and all the walls up with the siding installed (I guess that show doesn't make that shit up). I took advantage of of it being another nice day, I opened all my windows and spent about 4 hours cleaning the inside of my RV, I dusted everything, cleaned everything, and finally I vacuumed the floors. So, now my RV is clean inside and out and I'm ready to hit the road tomorrow and get to Millington. Hopefully the weather willbe really nice when I drive, because normally anyone who owns an RV knows that after you clean it up, it will rain the next time you drive it. Well, now you know what I've been up to, I hope your week was as good as mine.

Before I sign off, I just have to thank Bill & Lynda for their great hospitality and for letting me stay here after they left for Hot Springs, AR on Sunday (Bill, I hope becoming a human pincushin works out for you). You two have treated me like a part of your family this week and all year long. Thank you very much!!!! (Yes Bill, I did make sure all the lights are off in the shop and house, and I turned the water off and locked everything up)...

Again, I want to thank all the fans for supporting me and Work 'N Woody and the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. So, until my next blog, stay safe and keep all four wheels on the ground.
Work 'N Woody,
